(Prague, June 17, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out inspections in ordinary shops and e-shops and inspected compliance with the prohibition to offer, sell and store products infringing certain intellectual property rights. Violations of certain intellectual property rights were proven in 91 of 682 inspections, i.e. 13.3%. In total 5,432 pieces of counterfeits amounting to almost 6.5 million CZK were stored out of reach of the inspected persons. The mentioned price was calculated based on prices of originals. Violations of generally binding legal regulations were proven in more than a half of inspections, namely in 393 cases (57.6%). In total 376 fines amounting to CZK 2,657,500 were lawfully imposed within the inspection action.
