(Prague, April 12, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority evaluated the inspection action focused on the mediation of sale and sale of cultural objects and cultural monuments, which it carried out in the second half of last year. Above all, the inspectors checked the way in which obliged entities verify from whom they purchased the item. As part of this inspection, the CTIA carried out a total of 68 inspections and found 32 breaches of the Act on Selected Measures against the Legalization of Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism. “The results of the inspections carried out in 2018 confirmed that the number of infringements of this act was reduced by almost 10% when compared to 2017. However, even in 2018, deficiencies were found in more than a half of the inspected sites. The CTIA will pay more attention to this issue this year,” said Mojmír Bezecný, the Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.
