Discounts became expensive

(Final report of 2013)

(Prague, February 27, 2014) The number of inspections focused on sale for action prices and seasonal discounts was lower than in the previous year, but the proportion of detected deficiencies increased by more than 8%. This means that at least 45 of 100 consumers who wanted to use the offer of favourable purchase were not informed about the price as well as the discount rate or were subsequently cheated within billing of final price of selected goods. Inspections were carried out in both classical shops and e-shops offering discounted goods or products for action prices. Within the inspection action, ban on sale of 27.945 pieces of products that failed conditions stipulated for placing product on the market and that amounted to 1.3 million CZK.
