Fuel quality in December 2015

(Monitoring of fuel quality in December 2015)

(Prague, January 22, 2016)
The Czech Trade Inspection Authority collected in total 180 fuel samples at filling stations in December 2015. Deviations from quality standards were proven concerning two samples of diesel and one sample of diesel fuel blend DFB 30. In all the three cases very low flash point was detected. As regards the diesel fuel blend sample, the measured value was more than a half the value required by the applicable technical standard. The defect was caused by negligence relating to possible diesel contamination by gasoline which generally worsens fuel viscosity and lubricity. Despite inspected samples of other fuels were without defects, the ratio of noncompliant samples increased from 1.0% to 1.7% in December when compared with November. Prohibitions of further sale were imposed on 2,442 litres of poor quality fuels amounting to CZK 70,712.
