Funeral services providers were less fair

(Final report of 2016)

(Prague, January 13, 2017)
The Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspects activities of funeral services providers on the whole territory of the Czech Republic. Inspection results showed that the situation in this sensitive area hadn’t improved. In comparison with 2015, inspectors saw a 12% increase in the number of cases of failures to comply with legal obligations. Most frequently vendors failed to properly inform consumers about prices of sold products and provided services, and didn’t issue any confirmation of order in writing. “Undertaking consists of specific services and this field is perceived very sensitively by consumers. The CTIA will pay due attention to this issue in 2017 with regard to the situation which worsened when compared with 2015,” said the Director General of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority Mojmír Bezecný.
