(Prague, 7 August 2020) USB chargers, laptop chargers and rechargeable batteries are widely used by consumers. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority focused on this assortment and evaluated the inspections carried out in 2019. In total, it inspected 11 types of chargers and found deficiencies in 6 types. In case of 1 type, it identified a serious safety risk due to which the use of the charger can result in serious injury or even death of the user. "The results of the inspection confirm that most inspected chargers have deficiencies and it is necessary to continue the inspections in order to prevent the use of non-compliant devices with a certain level of danger to the final consumer," said Mojmír Bezecný, Director of the CTIA.
