Poor quality petrol detected in May. Diesel with no defects

(Monitoring of fuel quality – May 2013)

(Prague, June 13, 2013) During May, in total 215 motor fuel samples were taken, including 5 that failed the appropriate technical standards’ requirements, i.e. 2.3%. The rate of non-conforming samples has been the second best result of the year. “Before the touristic season it is unpleasant to find out that all the cases related to petrol. In 3 of the 5 poor quality petrol samples, the analysis saw significant deviations from the demanded quality which has risen suspicions of unauthorized manipulation with the fuel,” the Director General of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority Vladimír Velčovský said about the results of the inspections of motor fuel. The inspections of fuels will continue in the summer.
