(Praha, October 26, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority regularly monitors whether chemical substances from which illegal explosives can be made are freely available in the Czech market. In the second quarter of 2018, CTIA carried out 64 inspections and detected violations of legal regulations in 16 cases. “Precursors of explosives are considered very risky substances to which increased attention is paid by the European Commission. This results in proposals revising the European legislation which shall make the availability of explosives precursors much more limited especially to persons from the wide public. It is a European legislation priority, so the CTIA will also pay due attention to the matter,” said Mojmír Bezecný, the Director General of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.
