(Prague, February 24, 2017) The situation in the area of violations of laws in the area of presentation sales events didn’t significantly improve when compared with 2015. In 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 321 inspections and detected breaches of legal regulations in 244 cases, which represented 76%. “Although the Act on Consumer Protection was changed during the past years and its amendments imposed on organizers the obligation to report organization of an event as well as prohibition to accept money prior to 7 days pass from the day when a presentation sales event was held, the ratio of inspections with findings declined only by 5%. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority will continue in its activities in the area where a number of conducts include unfair and aggressive practices,” said the Director General of the CTIA Mojmír Bezecný.
