The sale of alcoholic beverages to minors was confirmed in three out of five inspections

(Prague, 14 December 2021) In the third quarter of 2021, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected the ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to persons under the age of 18. It also investigated whether traders comply with the Act on Excise Duties, Act on the Mandatory Labelling of Spirits, and the Consumer Protection Act. It carried out 1 570 inspections in this area and found violations of applicable legislation in 674 cases, which represented almost 50%. Persons under the age of 18 were invited to 101 inspections, including 61 cases in which the inspectors found the sale of alcoholic beverages to juveniles.
