(Final report of 2014)
(Prague, May 7, 2015) Monitoring of the market with tobacco products has always been included in the schedule of actions of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. The aim of last year’s inspection action was to check whether sellers breach obligations stipulated in the Act on Excise Duties as regards offer, sale and storage of tobacco products as well as to inspect fulfilment of other obligations. Shortcomings concerning tobacco products were discovered only within 20 of 3,041 inspections, i.e. 0.7%. During the evaluated period, 16 fines amounting to 454,000 CZK were lawfully imposed and further more than a thousand fines amounting to 7.6 million CZK were imposed for other flaws proven within the inspection action.
