Almost half of inspected kettles were deficient

(Prague, 29 October, 2021) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has evaluated an inspection action focused on the safety of kettles. It inspected a total of 30 types and found deficiencies in 13 types of kettles. In one type, the technical defects were so serious that the kettle was withdrawn from the market.

CTIA has banned a dangerous thermostat in the market

(Prague, 25 October 2021) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority has detected an electrical device in the domestic market that may pose a risk of electric shock to consumers. The CTIA imposed a protective measure on the seller, consisting of a ban on supplying the thermostat to the market and withdrawal from the market and from circulation.

Beware of intermediaries taking advantage of energy supplier closures

CTIA found flaws in nearly half of toys inspected

(Prague, 19 October 2021) In the second quarter of 2021, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected compliance with technical and administrative requirements applicable for the production, distribution and sale of toys under the relevant law. The CTIA inspected a total of 597 toy models and found deficiencies in 283 models. During the inspections, product hazard analyses were also carried out and a total of 3 toy models showed a serious risk of harm posed to the health of young children.

In the 2nd quarter of 2021, the CTIA seized counterfeits worth more than CZK 7.5 million

(Prague, 6 October 2021) In the second quarter of this year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority inspected the offer, sale and storage of products infringing certain intellectual property rights. It carried out a total of 137 inspections and in 30 cases, it seized 2,507 counterfeit products in the value of CZK 7,667,227. The most frequent were textile products and toys of the following trademarks: Adidas, Nike, Tommy Hilfinger, Gucci and PokémonWizards.
