European Consumer Centre

European Consumer Centre Czech Republic (ECC) provides information about consumer rights in the European Common Market. It assists and advises consumers in their disputes with merchants from other countries of the European Union, Norway and Iceland. It also mediates possibilities of out-of-court settlements of consumer disputes with merchants. The Centre is funded by the European Commission and the Czech Trade Inspection Authority in whose offices it operates.

The ECC’s website can be found at www.europeanconsumer.cz. It is a well-organized source of information on consumer rights whenever shopping in other EU countries, Norway or Iceland. It also offers sections structured by topics of most frequently asked questions and problems. There are also contacts for the case that you want to ask the ECC for legal assisstance in a cross-border problem with a trader from other EU countries, Norway or Iceland.

The Czech ECC is a member of the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net).
