Change of opening ours of advisory spots at CTIA inspectorates

(Prague, September 26, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority alerts consumers about the changes of the opening hours of the Information and Advisory Service. As from October 1, 2018, personal visits to the premises of the seats of individual CTIA inspectorates will be possible during the following opening hours within two week days: Monday 8 to 12 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday 8 to 12 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. The change doesn’t affect the Středočeský and Prague Inspectorate where the opening ours for the consumer public remain the same. ...

Inspectors found only one misconduct at Zahrada Čech

(Ústí nad Labem, September 26, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Ústí Region and Liberec Region carried out inspections at the exhibition Zahrada Čech in Litoměřice. It carried out 12 inspections and detected violations of law in case of only one seller who didn’t inform consumers about prices of offered products and didn’t issue any bill of purchase.

CTIA prohibited sale of dangerous children’s umbrella

(Praha, September 18, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority discovered a children’s umbrella with a whistle which is not safe for children in the market of the Czech Republic. For example, the covers at the ends of the umbrella’s wires can be easily detached, and when the umbrella is opened automatically, the child may be injured by the uncovered ends of the wires.

Consumers find wrong prices first after payment

(Prague, August 17, 2018) E-commerce via e-shops, social media and auction portals is still on increase and represents increasingly more significant field of trade and services. “Hard” alcohol in Liberec sold the juveniles

(Liberec, September 4, 2018) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Ústí nad Labem Region and the Liberec Region carried out an extraordinary inspection aimed at selling alcohol to minors in Liberec. CTIA officers found that some entrepreneurs sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18. In three of the four inspections, "hard" alcohol was sold to teenage figurant of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority.
