Extraordinary inspection action by the CTIA in eastern Bohemia revealed sale of alcohol to minors

(Hradec Králové, 6 December 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions evaluated an extraordinary inspection action aimed at the ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. It carried out 11 inspections in total and in 6 cases detected the sale of alcohol and cigarettes to minors. "The findings that in the above-mentioned 6 cases suggest a violation of Act No. 65/2017 Coll., on Health Protection against the Harmful Effects of Drugs, will be dealt with in administrative proceedings with the inspected entities and the detected sale of cigarettes will be referred to municipalities for resolution within their delegated competence. Infringements are punishable by a fine of up to CZK 1 million. Due to the high ratio of findings, the number of complaints filed and the seriousness of the breach, inspections with this focus will continue to be carried out randomly," said the Director of the Inspectorate for the Hradec Králové and Pardubice Region, Ing. František Švihlík.
