(Prague, 31 March 2023) Last year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out a technical inspection focused on extension cables. The CTIA inspected 46 products at 45 operators and found breaches of legal regulations at 26 operators, where it found 25 products with deficiencies. It imposed 19 fines amounting to CZK 159,000 for non-compliance with the applicable legislation. “The results of the inspection action confirm that more than a half of the products inspected have both technical and administrative deficiencies. In view of this situation, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority will continue its inspections of extension cables and will regularly inform consumers about dangerous and non-compliant products,” said Jan Štěpánek, Director of the CTIA, commenting on the inspections.
