Number of taken counterfeits increased in Q2

(Prague, 7 October 2022) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority continued its inspections in Q2 2022 aimed at the prohibition imposed to traders on offering and selling counterfeited goods. It carried out a total of 281 inspections and found violations of the prohibition on offering, selling and storing products infringing certain intellectual property rights in 107 inspections, which represented 38.1% of cases. Compared to Q1, there was an increase of 9.4%. In addition to sanction measures, inspectors seized 11,133 items of counterfeit goods, which was 8,533 more than in Q1 2022. In terms of product range, the most frequent IPR infringements were in clothing and textile products, while the number of seizures of leather goods and footwear also increased.
