(Prague, 7 July 2021) At the end of June this year, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the South Bohemian Region and Vysočina Region carried out an extraordinary inspection action at the marketplace in Vyšší Brod, focusing on the offer and sale of counterfeit products. In total, it seized 1,098 pieces of counterfeit goods worth CZK 6,052,80. "In all three cases, inspection actions are underway to identify the seller. Breaches of the Consumer Protection Act can result in a fine of up to CZK 5 million. The selected taken counterfeits will be used for humanitarian purposes, the remaining ones will be liquidated," said Martina Střihavková, the Director of the inspectorate, commenting on the results of the inspection action.
