(Brno, December 19, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority of the Jihomoravský and Zlínský Region regularly monitors sale of goods at the marketplace ASIA BAZAR Hatě where counterfeits of branded goods are frequently offered. On December 8, 2016, the CTIA carried out another extraordinary inspection action focused on compliance with intellectual property rights and collected 331 pieces of counterfeits in the total price of almost CZK 2.7 million. (Ústí nad Labem, December 16, 2016) Suspicion of sale of defective goods was the reason for an inspection carried out by CTIA officers of the Ústí and Liberec Regions. (Prague, December 15, 2016) On December 6, 2016, CTIA officers carried out an inspection of offer and sale of products infringing certain intellectual property rights. The inspection was carried out at a stand with audio goods, located in the hall of the Prague main railway station. Counterfeits of Apple products were discovered. (Prague, December 12, 2016) During the past two years, the Act on Consumer Protection changed to the benefit of seniors who frequently visit presentation sales events. (Continuous report of 3rd quarter of 2016)(Prague, December 7, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority carries out inspections of alcohol sale in the national retail market. Although during the third quarter of 2016 sellers didn’t breach law on obligatory marking of spirits, legal regulations are still breached in terms of other goods inspected by the CTIA. (Hradec Králové, November 29, 2016) Late November, a joint inspection action was carried out together with members of the Customs Administration of the Pardubice Region and the Czech Environmental Inspectorate from Hradec Králové. The aim of the inspection action was to monitor the retail network, including other workplaces offering alimentation services and refreshments. (Prague, December 2, 2016) Christmas is coming and especially e-shops see an increased interest in purchases of goods. The Christmas period is one of the most important periods of the year for both traders and consumers.
