CTIA prohibited a dangerous electric razor

(Prague, January 11, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority detected a new type of dangerous products – electric razors. The razor found in the Czech market was „Boli Razor RSCW-6008“ that had no obligatory marking and also freely accessible parts under voltage, so its user can easily be seriously injured by the electric current.

Alcohol was sold to adolescents before Christmas

(Hradec Králové, January 10, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority saw increased number of cases of sale of alcohol to adolescents. Before Christmas it saw a high number of breaches of the prohibition to sell alcohol to persons under 18 years, namely alcoholic beverages were sold to adolescents within 12 of 17 inspections. It was mostly hard alcohol and wine.

Names of manufacturer or importer often missing in inspected toys

(Praha, January 8, 2019) In the third quarter of 2018, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out in total 303 inspections of toys intended for children under 14 years. Violations of legal regulations were discovered in 218 cases. In total 1,032 models of toys were inspected within the inspection. CTIA prohibited a dangerous moisturising bath product

(Prague, January 4, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority found out that a moisturising bath product which can pose risk to children was offered in the Czech market. It is a product imitating a cupcake and is dangerous due to its interchangeability with a grocery. If small parts are released from the cupcake, a child can swallow or inhale them.

„Junks“ move away from presentation sales events

(Prague, January 2, 2019) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority monitors the offer and sale of products within sales presentation events. Inspection results show that the number of classis presentation sales events decreases. In the third quarter of 2018, CTIA carried out 16 inspections and found breaches of legal regulations in 3 cases. It is almost half of the ratio of findings within the second quarter of this year.
