Watch out for fraudulent online offers of accommodation!

(European Consumer Centre and dTest warn consumers)

(Prague, May 19, 2015) Internet fraudsters found a new way to gain money from trusting consumers. They imitate owners of real accommodation facilities within communication with consumers who are interested in accommodation offers and are willing to pay for fictive date reservation via bank transfer in advance. However no date is reserved and money is lost in the end of the day. Information about fraudsters’ practices is provided in the attached press release of the European Consumer Centre Czech Republic (ECC) and dTest. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority recommends consumers to check whether they send money to real intermediaries of the service or operators of accommodation facilities.
