Discrimination in 1Q of 2016

(Prague, July 1, 2016) The Czech Trade Inspection Authority long-term carries out inspections in the area of consumer discrimination. In the first quarter of 2016 it continued in the activity within 346 inspections within which suspicion of some form of discrimination was detected in 5 cases, which represents 1.45% of all inspections. Gipsy inspectors as well as language skilled inspectors were also used during the inspections. Despite the rather low ratio of inspections within which suspicions of some form of discriminative conduct were discovered, violations of other generally binding legal regulations were detected in 149 inspections. In the evaluated period 157 fines amounting to CZK 1,157,000 were lawfully imposed.
