IPR most frequently breached by marketeers

(Partial report of first quarter of 2014)

(Prague, June 18, 2014) Within the market surveillance CTIA inspectors find out that sellers permanently breach certain intellectual property rights when they sell and offer counterfeits and use prohibited unfair commercial practices. High ratio of detected flaws – 67.3% – as well as frequency of detected counterfeits (36.06 % of inspections) is a proof of such violations of legal regulations in the surveillance competence of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. In the first quarter of 2014, the highest proportion of collected fakes concerned textile products. The total of 247 fines amounting to almost 2.2 million CZK was lawfully imposed in the monitored period.
