(Partial report of the second quarter of 2016)
(Prague, August 12, 2016) Funeral services is a sensitive area of services in which no one would expect any unfair conduct. Survivors face the loss of a beloved one and, hence, take very personally any failure to provide declared services. In the 2nd quarter of 2016, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority carried out 95 inspections and services providers of funeral services breached laws in 50% of the cases. Most frequently they didn’t inform consumers about prices of sold products and provided services or they didn’t provide any written confirmation about the acceptance of an order. CTIA imposed 41 fines amounting to CZK 73,000.
